New Marquee and Lobby

Our design for the new lobby and marquee for this downtown Brooklyn office building responds to user traffic and increased pedestrian visibility.  The new translucent glass marquee design “floats”, incorporating LED glass edge lighting.  Alteration of the entrance doors and transom permit expanded visibility and lands “50” at the center of a new glass transom.  The lobby interior maintains the existing full height wall marble, complementing the new angled floor slab design responding to the office use traffic flow and the location of new security control turnstiles.  A new perimeter cove light provides a soft glow of the restored plaster ceiling in addition to new decorative suspended circular LED light fixtures.  Our design provides a dynamic interior alteration sensitive to original materials and the building’s user traffic.
