Restoration of the lobby at 315 West 99th Street was accomplished by peeling away layers of poorly applied finishes. Removal of the existing suspended ceiling revealed the original decorative plaster ceiling details. Our work included installation of new marble tile flooring and wainscoting as well as restoration of damaged marble pilasters to original conditions. Existing decorative steel and glass doors were repaired, restored and refinished. New door hardware was installed as were new mailboxes and decorative light fixtures throughout the entrance lobby and hall. A new doorman’s station and custom valet closet were designed by our office in keeping with the interior design motifs which were carefully restored. Our restoration efforts have returned this traditional lobby to its original grandeur.
