Apartment Combination

The design of this post-World War II apartment included the combination of two apartments.  Interior design focused on salvaging original plaster ceilings and walls as well as oak herringbone flooring.  The existing steel windows were all restored and refinished with crisp black paint.  All new custom wood trim doors and cabinetry were installed throughout the existing apartment creating a seamless blend between apartments.  New light fixtures, wiring and controls were coordinated with the Owner’s interior decorator.  The infrastructure we established formed an excellent base for interior decorative finishes and furniture layouts.  Above all, our collaboration provided the Owners with spaces which showcased their personal family interests.  Our goal for this particular project was to create background interior architecture able to accommodate various interior decoration styles.  Based on our collective efforts, we achieved a most successful project.
