Harperley Hall was designed by Henry Wilhelm Wilkerson in 1910 as an Arts and Crafts-style apartment building suitable for Artists. In 2001 we completed restoration of all building facades and total replacement of original wood windows and balcony doors with new historic replicated mahogany windows and doors. The building façades were cleaned using a process known as “façade gommage”, where powder and air pressure are used to remove years of pollutants without the use of water. This process eliminated the potential of water damage to the apartment interiors sometimes caused by pressure washing. Restoration included masonry repairs, structural redesign, balcony reconstruction and terra cotta reglazing of this Central Park West architectural gem.
